Mundial

The world cup soccer tournament (Mundial in Portuguese) is well underway here. This week, Portugal played US. Our "family away from family" hosted us as we ate conquilhas (a type of clam) and watched the big game. Jacob has a jersey from both teams, so he wore the Portugal one on our walk over (to avoid stares) and during the game, he wore the US one. It got a little rowdy since the US would have won had it not been for the last 10 seconds of added time where Portugal scored to tie.

For supper we had the usual fresh bread and cheese assortment followed by these tiny clams seasoned with coriander and parsley.

The love of Star Wars legos unites even the strongest fans!

I have to brag on our friend who made these lego creations without any pattern or directions (complete with retracting wheels on the plane and a moveable mouth on the whale)! He's awesome!
